I practically grew up in a styling chair. Born to an African American father and Eastern European mother, I learned the art of manipulating a frizzy, curly fro with a mind of it’s own. I became the stylist of my mixed-race friends during the quirky 80s, when hair made as big of a social statement as plastic glow bracelets and acid wash cut-offs.
